About our project

The problem we solve: Providing patients the ability to control the lights, IPTV, temperature, and fan's in a patient room starts giving patients control where they didn't have it previously. Giving them the ability to query against the knowledge of the internet to explain terms, issues, and answer those nagging questions. It will give them a place to store voice memo's for questions they can ask their provider, a system that can trigger reminders to take medicines, and a place their own provider can trigger reminders from.

About our solution: We intend to take the opensource mycroft.ai and create a package that local hospitals can install in their patient rooms.

Progress to date:

We've prototyped using a rasberry pi in conjunction with a server and mycroft.ai, its a promising system. We envision we will need a hardware provider generating a device similar to an echodot, a wemomini, a thermostat provider, and we can rapidly prototype and roll out the system.

How We Help Patients

Its all about patient empowerment. We are a startup that wants to bring voice control to the patient experience, rolling out first to inpatient settings. We imagine a world where you can speak your reminders into a device, turn on a light, control your IP TV, and even adjust the temperature in the room as just the start. Patients who can't use a mobile device can have their questions answered directly.

Patients who can't use a mobile device can have their questions answered directly.

Audible reminders that can help keep your patient on track and following their protocol. Memo's you can have your team help answer prior to and after meeting with the patient.

Challenge Mission

Key Milestones Achieved and Planned

This is a run fast, run hard, and we'll all be excited if a major player decides to release standard hardware to accomplish this goal. Its about the patients not about the money.

Entering the AMIA competition for funding. We want to build out further proof of concept systems and excite the AMIA community.

Thank You

I was in the hospital last year and just having the ability to store random questions would have been incredibly helpful. When you're stuck in a patient bed and don't feel like moving turning off the TV, the lights, or making any adjustments is exhausting. We're trying to build a better experience.

  • Enhancing the idea
Kicking this around with friends today, tying it into the lunch menu and giving it the ability to place an order would be another intuitive use.
