About our solution: The on-site solution eliminates the need to transport infectious waste across the United States which risks accidental exposure to the community. It is an agile technology that meets state and federal waste destruction regulations for infectious disease and complies with all EPA air emission requirements. This technology can be mobilized across the globe in areas wherever outbreaks of diseases occur.

Safe Dispose has several working prototypes and will begin on-site beta testing upon completion of UL and state certification.

The present invention relates to the field of on-site or mobile treatment of all types of biohazard medical waste, including pathological, pharmaceutical, cannabis, and trace chemotherapy waste.  Specifically, the present invention relates to the process of thermochemical decomposition of organic material at elevated temperatures in the absence of oxygen (or any halogen) in a single chamber with an output air quality that meets EPA regulations.

How we will use the funds raised

Initial fundraising monies will be used for UL,CE, and State approvals. Any remaining funds will be used for selling, marketing and to build initial units that will be place in healthcare sites.

Market Size

In the United States, regulated medical waste is approximately seven to fifteen percent of the total waste generated at healthcare facilities.  Hospitals, clinics, doctor and dental offices, morgues, and veterinary centers must treat waste properly in order to protect public health from the spread of potentially infectious diseases.  This produces over 2 million tons of medical waste each year.  This waste must be treated by an approved technology or transported by a licensed hauler that trucks the waste to a facility with approved equipment for treating that specific type of waste.  A hospital generates an average of 33 pounds of medical waste per staffed bed.  The market for cannabis waste will increase exponentially as new state regulations allow medical marijuana products to be distributed.  No one has yet defined that market’s potential but we do know that the cannabis waste disposal will be regulated.  Pharmaceutical recall and destruction programs will also contribute market opportunities for the Safe Dispose technology.  A significant portion of the profits for any waste disposal service comes from the smaller generator i.e. doctor and dental offices, veterinary clinics, dialysis centers, pharmaceutical expiration / take back programs (CVS and Walgreen's) and satellite emergency care facilities. Most of these type facilities fall into the small generator category allowing hauling services to charge costly fee minimums for removal.  Safe Dispose will focus on these market segments first.  The global medical waste market size was valued at USD 21.0 billion in 2016 and is expected to grow with a CAGR of 5%.

Projected 3 Year Growth

Product will be available for shipment in August. The plan is to place 17 machines in 2019 for a total sales revenue of $935,000.  In 2020 unit volume will be 64 with sales revenue of $3,500,000.  In 2021 unit volume will be 136 with sales revenue of $7,500,000. 

Revenue Model

Safe Dispose operates a business model generating revenues and profits from the sale/lease of the systems to be placed on-site. The small system footprint of approximately 40” square makes it advantageous for a facility with limited space. Presently the cost of removing biohazardous/pharmaceutical waste and disposing of it properly from a generator’s location is averaging from $1.00 to $2.50 per pound depending upon volume. Customers with the Safe Dispose machine can easily process over 600lbs per day. The average return on investment is less than one year using a $1.25 per pound removal cost.  Safe Dispose feels this is a very attractive return for any potential customer. Leasing and rental options will also be available through a third party financial company.


Service companies pick up/consolidate and then deliver to a proper disposal site for processing.  These include Stericycle, BioMedical Solutions and other regional medical waste transporters.  None of these companies or services offer an on-site solution for this category of medical waste.

Several companies like AMB Ecosteryl and Paragon have very large systems. These systems have a price tag in the millions of dollars.  Therefore there is immense cost to implementing these type systems and significant volumes are required to make a site economically feasible.  These complex systems have a substantial footprint.

Other companies have technologies that provide sterilization; some using autoclaves with steam and microwave heat generation.  These companies are limited as to the type of medical waste that they can process therefore they do not qualify as an incineration equivalent.  For example they cannot process pharmaceutical, cannabis, and trace chemotherapy. The Safe Dispose can process all categories. 


Preselling and customer educational sessions started in March 2019. We will begin implementing our full program roll out once our agency approvals are in place over the next 60 days.
