Sherry is a nationally recognized customer/patient-centered design thought leader; organizational midwife, social venture broker and serial entrepreneur with a passion for health innovation. She frequently serves on multi-stakeholder health collaborations and is currently co-chair of the Choosing Wisely - Consumer Engagement Task Force; the Accelerator Committee for Washington State Healthier Washington project and one of the top 100 most influential individuals talking about healthcare IT. She has a Masters in Public Health Leadership from the UW and bachelor's in Finance and Bio-Medical Engineering and is certified in Entrepreneurship & Project Management. In her spare time, she tutors homeless children and teaches mindfulness. At HHS/ONC, she established the Office of Consumer Engagement and developed a new Patient-Centered consulting service line. As the National Project Director, she lead strategy and implementation for 63 regional offices working with 147,000 Physicians in the Provider Adoption of Patient-Centered Health IT. Prior to that, she founded the Alliance4Health a social venture consulting firm (where she currently works) with a focus on health tech innovation. She loves to give birth to companies and worked at 2 for-profit startups and co-founded nonprofit organizations. With her depth and breadth of experience in health innovation and patient-centered design, she is often asked to serve as a mentor, judge, and advisor in the healthcare vertical. She mentored teams at Microsoft/TechStars accelerator; was a judge for health tech contests (Novartis, RWJF, PCORI) Brookings, Stanford Medicine X) and serves on multiple boards and committees.
