A thought leader in the business of wellness, Rich combines the powerful healing qualities of food and yoga to create a unified path of holistic health. Through that lens Rich approaches even business as a spiritual endeavour. As a serial entrepreneur, Rich’s career lead him far from his origins in New York. From his roots in a family run business, Rich propelled his business savvy into many successful ventures leading to a busy travel schedule crisscrossing the US, and more than 50 Grateful Dead concerts. With many years of experience, Rich’s love of business lead him to the pursuit of a deeper connection, and he endeavored to combine ‘heart’ and business. During a stent in Florida he began a yoga practice for personal enrichment. Soon, yoga proved to be the verve he was looking for in business and health and after landing in Austin, TX he shifted his professional focus to the field of wellness. He became the Owner and CEO of Yoga Yoga, now an Austin institution, boasting 150,000 students and more than 2 million visits since 1997. In addition to yoga classes, Yoga Yoga is a pioneer in Teacher Training and remains a coveted training program featuring the industry’s most well-known teachers from across the country. Yoga Yoga has grown to become a dynamic wellness experience, featuring a Yoga Therapy Clinic, as well as the Westlake Spa. In 2009 Rich earned a Master’s Degree in Public Health at the University of Texas in Austin. During this time Rich worked to integrate the wisdom of Eastern and Western philosophies on health and well-being and began pairing nutrition with yoga. He became the owner and CEO of Natural Epicurean Academy of Culinary Arts, a plant-based culinary school focused promoting health through 5 Healing Cuisines. Through the wisdom and benefits of Ayurveda, Macrobiotic, Raw & Living, Vegan, and Vegetarian cuisines Natural Epicurean has become an industry trailblazer.
