At braGGs we’re passionate about giving breast cancer survivors and previvors who have undergone breast reconstruction after mastectomy (single or double) a bra that is comfortable and solves the numerous problems they may encounter with their new breasts.

After our own mastectomies and breast reconstruction with implants, we discovered a number of problems trying to fit our new “girls” into our regular bras.

| Breast Reconstruction After Mastectomy with a Regular Bra |
To get a natural shaped breast (and avoid large indentations at the front of our bras), we had to wear a mastectomy bra with a full prosthesis over our implants. When we decided to have breast reconstruction, we were opting to not have to wear a prosthesis (no offense to those wonderful women who choose to use a prosthetic after mastectomy and skip reconstruction). When we were told our only option was to put a prosthesis over our implants, we decided to make a better solution.
We were motivated to create a bra for the reconstructed girl!
braGGs bras are NOT a mastectomy bra. braGGs bras are NOT a regular bra. braGGs bras are Reconstruction Bras. Our products are extremely comfortable, appropriately and simply sized, adjustable to ensure a good fit for each “girl”, and stylish!

So far, we have written our own patent application for the braGGs bras, independently surveyed the market, secured all social media outlets (check us out on Facebook and Twitter) and online domains, hired a world-renowned bra designer with vast experience at the big bra companies who is helping us finish our prototype, and identified a wonderful manufacturer. WHY US?
Surviving breast cancer has been our life stories – starting when we were little girls surviving our mother’s death from this terrible disease to finding out one of us sisters had it and the other had almost a 90% chance of getting it. We decided after spending the past two years fighting ourselves, that we need to give something to all the wonderful women who are stricken by this disease. And, we really needed a bra to wear!!! OUR REWARDS
With more than 200,000 women diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the United States and approximately 97,000 breast reconstruction procedures, many of us know women who are need of braGGs bras.
We are planning on manufacturing the first lines of braGGs bras later this fall and expect to have them available to our MedStartr supporters in January.
FAQs
Is $10,000 all that is needed?
No! We have invested much more than that on our own. We are big believers in this product (having the problems ourselves and having talked with hundreds of women who do, too) and wouldn’t ask you to give more than we are willing to put in on our own. With pre-orders of the bra through our rewards, we will be able to secure additional financing for women-owned small businesses!
What’s behind the braGGs name?
Girl Power! Starting with the word “bra” we added in one symbol for each of us – our last names both start with G! The “s” stands for Sisters. braGGs co-founders are sisters, and we know the breast cancer world is a sisterhood unto itself – we are sisters with so many others who have gone down this road. Finally, after all these women have been through – surgeries, mastectomies, reconstruction, radiation, chemotherapy treatment – we just wanted to give women a way to keep living, comfortably, solving their new bra needs … something each woman can brag about!
