The SupportSafe Walking Cane® will help senior citizens remain active while avoiding injury from falls, repetitive strain and joint impact. Additionally, the cane keeps seniors safe with an integrated falls sensor in the handle connected to a mobile application that sends out a distress message to the users emergency contact and/or a medical alert company. Falls are the number one cause of injury-related death for those over 65.

Most canes address only one area of cane ergonomics, the handle. The SupportSafe Walking Cane® includes features throughout the cane that improve the user’s comfort and balance, including a soft-grip handle, shock-absorbing shaft, wider base, and slip-resistant boot. The hollow boot can also accommodate additional electronic safety devices such as a GPS.

There are 500 million seniors world wide. That. Population will grow by 1 billion in the next 40 years. The Ambulatory Supplies market is over $500 million annually in the U.S. 1.4 million canes are sold each year in the United States, but up to 50% of users abandon their canes because they cause injuries or are hard to use.

What we have:

-Our Company has patent-pending status on the SupportSafe Walking Cane®, and a trademark.
-We have completed working CAD drawings for manufacturing, and have identified the company to create the first prototype.
-A falls prevention exercise program in a mobile application for iPad.

What we need:

-Funds to create the first prototype.
-Creating V. 2.0 of the mobile app to include a platform for the iPhone, and connection feature to the falls sensor in the walking cane.
